UN Security Council calls for release of Myanmar’s Aung San Suu Kyi and other politicians

  UNSC issued a statement demanding the release of Myanmar politicians, three days after the military declared its control in the Southeast Asian country in a coup and detained top leaders. The United Nations Security Council on February 4, 2021, expressed concern over the military coup in Myanmar and also called for the immediate release of President Win Myint, State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, and other leaders who have been arbitrarily detained by the military. India, Bangladesh likely to sign three MoUs during Prime Minister Modi’s visit

  MoUs are likely to be signed in the field of disaster management as well as cooperation between some institutions of India and Bangladesh. India and Bangladesh will most probably sign three Memorandum of Understandings during PM Modi’s visit to Dhaka next week. Prime Minister will be visiting the neighbouring country to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’s Independence as well as the birth centenary of its founder ‘Bangabandhu’ Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. PM Modi and the head of the government and state from Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan will be among the distinguished guests who will be joining the celebrations under separate schedules. Prime Minister Modi holds virtual summit with Finland counterpart Sanna Marin

  During the virtual summit, PM Modi urged Finland to join the International Solar Alliance and CDRI.  PM Modi on March 16, 2021, held a summit in a virtual mode with the Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin. During the summit, both the leaders covered the entire spectrum of the bilateral relationship between India and Finland. They also exchanged views on global and regional issues of mutual interest. According to Prime Minister’s Office, the summit will provide a blueprint for the diversification and future expansion of the Partnership between India and Finland. The official release added that both the countries enjoy warm and friendly relations with each other that are solely based on the shared values of freedom, democracy, and rules-based international order. Travellers must take China-made COVID-19 vaccine to get Chinese visa

  Apart from India, such notices have been put up by the Chinese embassies in 19 countries including Pakistan, South Korea, Australia, Greece, Nigeria, Israel, Italy, Indonesia, and Norway. The Chinese Embassy in India has announced that it will start issuing visas to those travellers who have taken a Chinese-made Coronavirus vaccine and possess the certificate of the vaccination. In a statement, the Chinese Embassy stated that it will facilitate measures for people who plan to travel to China in order to resume their work, carry on their employment contracts, or do some other relevant work. However, for the Indian travellers the criteria will be an issue as the Coronavirus vaccines made by China will not be available in India.
